Mike has been with The Chef’s Garden since 2007 when the manufacturing company he worked for closed. He started out driving a tractor for the farm. His role soon evolved to tending onion, petite lettuce, pea blooms and other cruciferous seedlings for transplant. He nurtures the growing seeds with a keen eye for quality and experience as his guide. He enjoys watching as the plants transform from petite to ultra sizes and before he knows it, they’re harvested and it’s time to make room for a new crop.
Watch as Mike tells his story of coming to work every day, the joy of working with his hands and taking great pride in his work. He also shares a little about his own gardens at home.
“Mike is extremely organized, and takes great pride in providing the very best for our chefs. Before many of our field products are even transplanted in the ground, they have been nurtured with great care by Mike. His role is instrumental to our success in the field.” ~ Tom Skrovan, Field Production Manager
