Chef Chris Anderson is a culinary force to be reckoned with. Born and raised in Washington, North Carolina, having a love for food growing up in the south is an understatement, it’s a way of life. Anderson’s fascination with food led him to attend the International Culinary School at the Art Institute. After graduation he traveled to live and study Lyon, France for one year. While there he worked at the coveted 2 Michelin Star restaurant Auberge de L’Ile underneath Jean-Christophe Ansanay-Alex. After returning home from Europe he wanted to continue to push the limits of his culinary craft. Before landing at cutting-edge Moto, Chef Anderson further developed his technique at Michelin-starred restaurants Alinea and L2O in Chicago. Considered one of the best restaurants in the world, Alinea has been ranked on the San Pellegrino World’s 50 Best Restaurants since 2007, rising to #6 in 2011. Alinea carries the highest rating of 3 Michelin stars. L2O was awarded 2 Michelin stars in the 2013 and 2014 guides and received Wine Spectator’s Best of Award of Excellence. When he was offered Executive Chef at Moto, he reinvented the entire menu and wine pairings almost immediately. He earned Moto another Michelin star with a completely new concept and menu, Southern-spirited highbrow fare only seven months after taking the helm. Chris then began thinking about how to take his cooking and career to another level. In his mission to constantly rediscover American ingredients, he found the perfect fit at SO•PA.
