We’ve learned over the years how important consistency and uniformity is and it’s something that chefs have come to expect from our farm. We strive to please and because of our desire to exceed expectations in each and every order, The Chef's Garden crazy carrots never fit the bill. It was a shame because they are just as flavorful and nutritious as a perfectly shaped carrot and we’ve always thought that their bends and twists are an extraordinary site to behold. We are excited to say that many of our chefs have come to agree with us. In recent years, we receive more and more requests for our crazy carrots not only because each one is like a unique abstract statue on a plate but also because they reflect the sustainable farming practices that so many chefs are now striving to support. When a chef makes the decision to order our crazy carrots, they are making a bold statement. They are letting their guests know that they support nature’s plan and are allowing it make the decision for them as opposed to asking nature to produce something that fits within an industry standard that many of our carrots cannot fulfill due to their unique shapes. Crazy carrots represent for us at The Chef’s Garden the chef’s shifting perception of what beauty and perfection is all about. Our crazy carrots are just as flavorful and are as full of vitamins K and B6 as their more uniformly attractive counterparts but they also represent something that for us as farmers is an encouraging development in our culinary industry. They symbolize the chef’s growing awareness about the earth and their abiding respect for nature. We like to believe our crazy carrots are perfect in their imperfections and it’s heartening to know that so many chefs agree with us too.
